Am I still alive?
Wednesday, July 16th, 2008Yeah, seems like it - Not posted in a while.. As normal!
Life gone on and a lot has happened recently. I graduated and I got a new job, all in the same week. Life really works out nicely some times.

So, the site is still alive. It’s recently been moved to another server, since the old one is about to hit the grave. Might not be the fastest hosting, but it’s damn cheap and more than the site really need.
Some development have been going on with the Synology box I mentioned in my previous post. I now have rtorrent running and currently working on a web-interface to get some more control. There are a couple of them out there already, but none of them has the functionalities I need so slowly creating my own.
While making a post, I just have to add that all my classes are now done! Only thing remaining of my school years is a LIA (practise while working thing). Currently located at an IT consultant firm until the end of May.
It’s getting closer. Tomorrow is the start of a new chapter in my life (or maybe its more like a rerun since I studied before) - I got my first day in school! I’ve allready been there once to get a short introduction and that went pretty well, so hopefully tomorrow will go good as well. I was surprised how many students we are in the class and also how big difference it is in ages between us all. After tomorrow I will surely know the answers to the questions I have today..
So after a long and terrible trip with SJ (was some issues along the rail, so a trip that usually takes 2 hours took 6 hours instead), I was finally home to open my letter. It was a tense moment, but once open I was able to relax. According to the paper, I was accepted into Nackademin to read Nätsystem (networks). Hopefully it will live up to my expectations..
Last week I got a call from Nackademin about my application. Apparently they wanted to meet me (and of course all other applying for a spot) and make a quick group interview. That was all that was revealed on the phone call, so wasn’t really sure what would await me when I get there.
Anyway, today was the big day. So to make sure I get there in time, I took abit earlier train (I don’t trust SL abit with all the delays recently). Apparently I got there pretty much 30 minutes before my meeting, so I was asked to join an earlier interview which was fine with me (the sooner it would be done!). Once inside, I realized it was just going to be me and one other guy and of course the teacher (or whatever he was). This was a huge ease, I’d been imagining talking in front of 15-20 people. The interview itself went okay, his questions was very open so anything you said was pretty much right. By the ending, he revealed they will be doing the selections this evening, so we should expect an answer to my application by tomorrow or at latest Friday… Bah, now I’m getting nervous again!
That’s it, it’s finally done; I quit my job. I’m thinking of going back to school, but inorder to do this I need to quit my job (and that means I loose my steady income). I’ve been tumbling back and forth deciding if it’s the right thing to do, but today I called my boss up and gave her the story. So now I’m officially unemployed by the end of July..
By then I should know if my application got accepted - otherwise I need to start looking for a new job. This time closer to Stockholm for sure.
