Glad to see some feedback. Currently the upload is done with FTP, but there will also be a upload form in the adminpanel. The FTP mode is there when you want to upload larger amount of pictures. Once the picture is uploaded (either thru FTP or webbased), you moderate them into their correct album. This is currently located in Management tab, under a named called Gallery.

There's a setting right now that sets the userlevel you need to upload and manage the album. I haven't had the thought of having multiple levels in different albums, but it might be a nice feature. However I want to have it up and running without that much hassle included and then add on the way.

I'd like the upload to be on a seperate page from the dashboard, so that it's more integrated with the gallery and theme being used. The dashboard tends to confuse normal folks. I hope there will be the ability for anyone with a high enough user level to upload and control their own albums.

Thanks for the nice comments!

The project is still moving on and I am aiming to get out a release as soon as I'm done with the basics. However I need your input on the upload part, so please read more on my frontpage.

I would be happy to add any features you like, but that will be after I gotten the release out and the product is stable.

I don't know if you ever saw my comments over on the PatGal wiki page, but those are my suggestions. http://weblogtoolscollection.com/pluginwiki/index.php?title=PatGal Is this project still going strong? I'd really love to use a gallery with these sort of functions, especially if I could customize information sections on it (i.e. the print information, stock info, etcetera).

Just wondering! Thanks!

Yikes, thats alot of extras you planned. :) I might not be able to get them into the first releases, but I will add them to a list of requested features.

I never used Shutterfly myself, but I am aware it's a printing service. To me this is a "bloated" feature, but I am developing this script to the public so you have to decide what's gonna be in it. ;)

I am sorry to let you down on one of your points, the script will not be storing the images physcally the same way it's displayed on the web (albums). This would make it less flexible and would kinda take away the reason to use a database. Instead maybe we could discuss a feature to download images from the website in a structured way? Maybe as a generated zipfile that is recreating the "real" structure?

Don't have a MAC in hand, so might be hard to get iPhoto (Photon) integrated. I have to leave this to later and maybe get some more info on what it does and how it handles the uploads.

The last suggestion is allready on it's way and will be avaible in one of the first releases. Thanks for pointing it out, it's just missing the current plans list. :P

I use Gallery (G2-beta, actually) and agree that it is too bloated for my use. But there are a few features of Gallery I would love to see in a less-bloated gallery (especially one that was integrated into Wordpress):

• Integration with Shutterfly (or some other printing service, but I like Shutterfly best) is really slick in Gallery (both v1 and v2) and useful to me with in-laws who want pictures of the grandkids... they can print their own. It would be great if that were per/album(subfolder) or even per/photo(file).

• Uploading from iPhoto, which really just means making sure it works with Photon: <a href="http://daikini.com/photon/" rel="nofollow">http://daikini.com/photon/</a>.

• I'd also like the image files stored in discreet directories by album(subfolder) so that I can use a program to sweep that dir and use the pics in a screensaver.

• And finally, I'd love it if I could pull the thumbnail of a random image from a specific directory (with php) to display say on my index page, so I can show people one pic from the latest album uploaded, or something. That may be possible just by virtue of this being integrated into Wordpress.

Not too much, is it? Sigh. I'd be happy to discuss.
