Eastertrip to London

Posted in General on April 12th, 2007 6 Comments »

Was meant to write this post earlier, but school has started again so it’s been a busy start on the week. Anyway, me and my partner went to a trip to London over the easter. The best thing with it was that it was completly free flight and hotel, since my partner have collected some flypoints over a while.

We had a very nice stay, the weather was absolutly amazing (I even burned my earlobes in the sun). We did the normal touristattractions such as Madame Tussauds, London Dungeon and also some city sightseeing (like Picadilly Circus and Big Ben). Overall it was a much needed vacation. Thanks goes out to Hell and her newly found friend for watching the cats while we were away.

Spring arrives early in London! At the hotel in London Proof from London! :)

Leaving church for the money

Posted in General on April 3rd, 2007 No Comments »

Leaving church for the money!I just got my taxsheet with details for my final taxdeclaration. Each year I get it, I’m always upset how much of my money goes to the church that I never attend or have any beliefs in. In Sweden we were all joined to the church by birth (this have changed now). This means each year we pay around 2% of our income to keep the church running and also take part of their services. The weird thing is that you can still participate in each and every thing that a “paid member” believer can. You can get married, get buried and stuff like that – only difference you have to pay for it instead.

As I live as a homosexual gay guy, I don’t really have any high hopes to get a “svensson” wedding in a church. Mostly because church rejects us, but I’m not really sure I would be that interested even thou they welcomed us since I don’t share the same beliefs. The day marriage comes to question, it will be more legal involved than a whole ceremony. Maybe a bit of party afterwards thou! ;)

BINGO + Quiz = Lucky day!

Posted in General on March 30th, 2007 No Comments »

BINGO!Got an offer in my mailbox yesterday about a pokersite that now offers BINGO as well. They offered me 3 games for free, so I took the offer and I really liked it. Easy to win and just based on luck. The best thing is that you win about 10 times the money if you win. I didn’t win much on the 3 games I played, so today I deposited 100SKr (around US$13) and ended up with winning 96SKr (US$12). I also answered some quiz while playing and won 2 rounds, which gave me an extra $1. All in all, I ended up +/- Zero.

BUT.. Since it’s a new service, they offer an extra 100Skr just as a startbonus. Not sure I can just pull them out (if I can, I have doubled my deposit) without playing for them. Anyway, the bonus should be in my account in the next couple days so I might be able to win even more if I have to play for it. ;)

OceanFan – some good, some bad sides

Oceanfan logoI recently signed up for a deal where I can get paid money to do reviews and posts about different companies. Today I was assigned my first task, which is to review a company concentrating on solar energy and ceiling fans. Since the task is to brand their website, OceanFan.com I think I will concentrate on that (also since my skills on solar energy ain’t that high :D ).

To start off, their logo is really nice. The website then is a bit simple, but it’s easy to find what you are looking for. What surprises me the most is that they are actually using Google Adsense on their website. This means they are constantly recommending other sites instead of their own, which should probably make their customers a bit surprised. It also means if they ever decide to use Google Adsense, they might end up paying for visitors that is already on their website.

What I also noticed, is that the website tries to use the local language to format the price. So when visiting it in IE7 (Swedish), the prices said SKr instead of US$. This is a nice feature, but the idea is to have the prices converted as well, which this site didn’t. That means that I could buy a nice ceiling fan (going for US$79.98 on the website) for 79.98 SKr which roughly is US$10.

The website itself provides good pictures, so you can easily find the products that you are interested in. Most products also hold a short technical description, but myself I would prefer a full PDF of the manual or at least more details about each product.

Funny difference between creditcards

Posted in General on March 27th, 2007 2 Comments »

I’ve been doing some reading up on different implementation guidelines offered by the bigger Creditcard companies like VISA and MasterCard. One funny and a bit annoying thing I noticed was that they both recommend totally different things. Mastercard SecureCode tries to show all benefits and simplicity of having a popup to enter your additional details. Verified by VISA recommends the opposit; to keep everything on the same page to avoid hassles with popupblockers.

In this small battle, I think I prefer VISAs method, but I’ll give you my final opinion once I implemented them both.. (if ever. :) )

Just wanted to let everyone (atleast anyone who visits this website) know about a very nice photoportfolio by Michael Hooper. He’s concentrating on taking tasteful pictures of very nice guys and I must say he does a very good job. If you ever in Netherlands and want your pictures taken, you know where to go! :)

My favourite would be in the Duo archive, image dsc00507a_bw.jpg. Nice huh? :D

Cats caught on cam!

Guybrush and Gumman in same bed!

This usually never happends.. Both cats in the same bed next to me! Usually they take turns and once in a while when you do have the chance to see them together, the camera is always so far away.

Occidental Allegro Riviera - Hotel in Tunisia

My sister just called me and asked if me and my partner was interested in going to Tunisia. Apparantly she dragged our parents into it and planned dates are 6th May to 14 May. The hotel looks very nice and the best thing is that it’s All Inclusive, meaning free food and snacks for me and my partner, free booze for the rest. :D
