Paper Mario is back

Super Paper Mario CoverJust started playing this weird, but enjoying game called Super Paper Mario. As we all can see, it’s starring our favourite italian “stud” Mario! The game play has really changed from the earlier Paper Mario games, since now it’s more like an plattform game than a classic RPG game. Some elements remain from the RPG genre like leveling up and using items, so it hasn’t totally lost its roots.

The game itself is very unique in it’s gameplay. It supports flipping the world from the normal 2D scroller (seen in earlier Mario games) to a 3D view (seen in the later Mario games) with a push of a button. This is needed to solve certain puzzles in the game, since some things only show up in one of the dimensions.

To mention some bad things, it seems the puzzles can be solved pretty similiar over and over again. Hopefully this is just because I started playing, since this might get the player familiar with the controls. For now I’ll let Zelda: The Twilight Princess rest a bit and keep playing this game.

hey pate! you’ve got the wii too. how is it that super paper mario is released in sweden but not in the uk??!!

Zelda is very nice so far, just wish I could play a bit more. I think Zelda is better if you can play in longer intervals, it’s awful to start a dungeon and then have to quit when you halfway through it. Still got a bit left it seems, heard people playing it on around 60 hours and I think my playtime is around 20-25 hours so far. ;)
Super Paper Mario is better for my shorter play breaks, it’s divided into smaller chapters.

Yeah, it’s out. It brings back some classic moments from those early days, so it’s absolutly worth it if you are a fan!
