Back from Macbeth
Monday, May 22nd, 2006My partner surprised me yet again with a theater show and this time we took on another classic by same writer, Macbeth by William Shakespeare. According to the theaters webpage this play is a bit heavier to grasp than “King Lear” and I can only agree. It started with a 5-10 min introduction about how noble Macbeth was but after this it’s a loooong way down. Rest of the play is very dark and depressing, so be sure you are in the right mood before you see it.
Overall it was a great performance and all did a great job on stage. The butler played by Börje Ahlstedt had the funniest lines along with some great acting and this gave him some extra applause at the ending. What also shocked me was that one of the two female actors (Lene Endre) walked out nude on stage - only with blood covering her “private” parts. It was a weird scene and I bet noone in the audience was prepared for it… nasty! :p
