First project started

P1210162.jpgMe and my partner has just started with our first renovation object – the master bedroom. We started out with a very unestetic room; green wallpapers, green radiators, brown frames on windows and doors and one wall with lightbrown rectangular bricks. Oh, and don’t forget the dusty and old green carpet on the floor (YUCK!). Hopefully our end results will be a lot better, we allready purchased the new wallpapers and some other materials that will be needed. We are going for a purple room with darker details on our furniture. We also decided to refresh the frames around windows with the standard colour white and as well repaint the roof. Currently this step is done, so next step would be putting the wallpapers up. Hopefully we can get this done soon. ;)

A neat plugin for WP2 with Gallery2

Guybrush takes a peek!I’ve had a hard finding a good and easy way to make a gallery and still use the images in my posts without any issues. I’ve been talking about my own development patGal, since I thought Gallery2 had way to much stuff for me. All I needed was a good and easy way to post pictures in a gallery and same time be able to insert some in my blogposts. Anyway, a couple months ago WPG2 got out of beta and I have to admit it made my opinion about Gallery2 change a bit. So I took some time to configure to my needs and was very happy about it. After a while WP2 came out and the TinyMCE editor that came with it was very neat. However it had a huge problem with allowing tags from WPG2, but today I found a solution to that problem.

Gallery2 Image plugin works great! It lets me select photos from a popup showing thumbnails from the Gallery2 plugin. I get alot of options and just point and click to insert it to my blogpost. I can after that use the built in editor to align the thumb in my post.

Abit more secure..

FalckWe just had a salesman over to validate the safety of our new house. He warned us that he would be abit over the top and he was. Anyway.. he found various ways to enter the house, but mostly was allready known to us. However he did come with a few good suggestions and instead of just selling us his own stuff he even told us we could get some stuff cheaper by visiting a normal warehouse than buy from him. :)

Not sure if this something they all do to gain trust among the customer, but it worked on us. :D We ended up buying a $320 homealarm package with a direct connection to their guards over at Falck Security. This is another monthly cost, but might be worth it to feel a bit more secure during nights and when away from the house. He also included a smokedetector which is also connected to the system and will call Falck if a fire is detected. So far happy, but we’ll see how it turns out once installed and activated (next week).
