Tarja kicked out

Monday, October 24th, 2005

Just found a news article about Tarja being kicked out from the band Nightwish. Apparantly the band claims that the leadsinger Tarja became too much of a diva and was in the band just for the money. Personally I don’t care if this is the reason as long as they produce nice music. I doubt they find anyone that can really replace Tarja and her amazing voice.

There’s a letter explaining everything on their website, but the server seems overloaded since I can’t access it right now. All I get is the title..

Design madness..

Sunday, October 23rd, 2005

I’ve been changing the design pretty much the latest week, but finally decided to go for an easy redesign from the original K2 template. Background image is based on Andreas Viklunds template06, but it’s been editied since I like white better than grey. I still have some issues and work to do, since the template isn’t fully configured for Internet Explorer.

Thinking of starting to vlog

Wednesday, October 19th, 2005

Have been thinking of new ways to improve flummo.com and got think of the “new hype” vlogs (video+blogging). I got plenty of webspace (and bandwidth for that sake) and also an almost unused webcam lying around on my desktop. Combining these and I got the perfect ground to start vlogging on. One thing missing is some kind of software. The idea with blogging is that it should be easy and it shouldn’t take long to just give a few opinions on what you think or how you feeling today. A manual vlog would mean editing, encoding, uploading, include media on the page – I guess this would give good result, but it’s to much work so I would loose interest very quickly. So I started to search the net..

And I found a software called “Patchouli Producer”. It’s currently in beta stage, but I think the software is exactly what I need. I can easily record a webcam session in it and then just press upload and have it upload and post it to my blog. Currently only a blogsoftware called dotNet is supported, but I have contacted the developer and he seems positive in letting me convert his plugin to WordPress (wich I use). I’ll keep you updated on things to come.. :D

Update: Apparantly the programmer behind Patchouli Producer aint going to release the software as Open Source or Freeware, so I have to give it a thought if I’d still be interested in helping out. I thought it was being done for the community and it seems all he wanna do is earn money. I’m not blaiming him, the idea is great and will probablly sell alot however I was hoping for a FREE version of it.

Moving out?

Wednesday, October 12th, 2005

It’s no secret that me and Juha wanted to move out of this apartment.. It’s not that we dislike this apartment, but the urge to move to our own house is getting bigger. We actually found a place we are quite interested in, so we will see what will happen. The bidding for it will begin today.. :)

Update:
Price is now up at 1.400.000 SEK (wich is our bid). Hopefully the others will be kind enough to just let us have it. :D

Update 2:
Bidding is now over. The other buyer increased the amount with a very low amount each time, so the broker had to call me a 10-15 times to verify we would go over it. At last the bidding starting to get close to our limit, so we increased it with a larger amount to see if the other buyer would let go. However he increased the bid with his small amount, so we gave up. We’ll wait for the next house that falls into our taste and start the bidding for that instead. :D
